Since IBM didn't ever find the original sources for the AFS documentation,
has there been any decision as to what to do about the issue?

Equally important since IBM can't find the source for the docs, did
they donate the HTML docs so we could at least reprocess them as a
starting point?

i have done a bit of work converting the .html that exists into
docbook. look at ftp://ftp.cmf.nrl.navy.mil/pub/chas/openafs
the generated .pdf's (the AdminGuide anyway) are pretty close to
the old 3.6 documentation.

And I need to work on getting this into the CVS system so we can start
editing for content.

the AdminGuide is mostly right. I need to fix the others to include
some missing highlighting. next weekend probably.

They have donated the HTML docs, yes.

Extensive work has already been done converting the administrative
reference into POD so that we can generate manual pages. I'm going to be
working on that immediately after the 1.4.0 release with the goal of
getting that work into 1.4.1.
